Home to Dragon Cellars' most celebrated luxury project — DJ Khaled's custom wine cellar

Wine Cellar Refrigeration & Cooling in Miami Beach, Florida

Refrigeration is where most wine cellars fail, and in Florida it fails faster. We build the room the cooling system depends on — the envelope, the insulation, the housing for the equipment — and a refrigeration specialist installs and commissions the unit itself.

What Miami Beach changes

Miami Beach is the hardest refrigeration problem we work on. Salt air corrodes condenser coils that would last a decade inland, and the towers here are sealed so tightly that a cellar's humidity has nowhere to go. A cellar here has to be built for that: an envelope detailed for a tower that never breathes, and the equipment housed where it is not drawing sea air directly. We build to those conditions and bring in a refrigeration specialist to install the system itself.

Miami Beach is one of the most recognizable luxury addresses in the world — and one of Dragon Cellars' most prestigious markets. From oceanfront penthouses on Collins Avenue to private estates on the Venetian Islands, Miami Beach clients demand wine storage that matches the caliber of their homes. Our most celebrated project here is the custom wine cellar we built for DJ Khaled, a bespoke luxury installation that became one of our most shared and recognized works.

Miami Beach projects present unique engineering challenges — extreme humidity, ocean air, and high-density residential buildings require precision climate control and materials that perform in coastal conditions. Dragon Cellars designs every Miami Beach installation with these factors built in from day one. Whether it's a 200-bottle display for a South Beach condo or a full climate-controlled room for a Star Island estate, every project starts with a site visit and ends with a cellar built to last decades in one of the most demanding environments in Florida.

Common questions

What temperature and humidity should a wine cellar hold?
Around 55°F with roughly 70% relative humidity, held steady. Stability matters more than hitting an exact number — swings are what damage a collection.
Does Dragon Cellars supply the cooling equipment?
No. We design and build the cellar, and a refrigeration specialist supplies, installs and commissions the cooling system. We coordinate their work into the build and prepare the room for it — insulation, vapour barrier and the housing the equipment needs.
Can a cooling unit be added to an existing cellar?
Often yes, but the room has to be assessed first. If the insulation or vapour barrier is inadequate, a new unit will run constantly and still fail to hold conditions — which is a construction problem before it is an equipment one.
How noisy are wine cellar cooling systems?
It depends on the type. Split and ducted systems place the noisy components away from the room, which is usually the right choice when the cellar adjoins a living or dining space — and it is a decision that has to be made while the room is still being drawn.
