Dragon Cellars began in Spain in 2007, building turnkey wine cellars in traditional wood. Nearly two decades later the work is designed, manufactured and installed from South Florida — and the cellars look nothing like where we started.
From traditional wood to light, glass and steel
The early cellars were classical: oak, arches, cellars below ground. As lighting and materials changed, so did the work — RGB and warm white LED, racking in lacquered steel, glass and acrylic, and rooms that sit in the middle of a home rather than hidden beneath it. Today a Dragon Cellars project is as likely to be a glass wine wall off a dining room as a climate-controlled room behind a door.
Every project is built to its space
Nothing is assembled from a catalogue. Each cellar is measured, drawn to the space and fabricated for it — which is what makes under-stair rooms, high-rise condominiums and 5,000-bottle collections all possible with the same approach. Manufacturing is now in the United States, which shortens lead times and keeps service close to the client.

Those habits are the ones the company runs on: plan it, draw it, check it, and do not hand it over until it is right. He founded Dragon Cellars in Madrid in 2007 and has spent 19 years designing luxury wine cellars, first across Spain and now from South Florida. He is the author of The Taste of Ambiance, a book documenting more than eighty projects across seven countries, recognised by three international book awards. More about the book →
Marisol Lecuna
General Manager
Marisol runs the business day to day and, with Al, built the South Florida operation — the general contractors, refrigeration specialists and installers a finished cellar depends on. She is the reason a project stays one conversation rather than five separate trades.
Geoff Pearce
Wine Cellar Technical Project Manager
Geoff has more than ten years in wine storage, managing the design, engineering and installation of cellars for residential, commercial and hospitality clients — climate control, humidity, HVAC and lighting. He works alongside architects, designers and winemakers so a finished room both preserves the collection and fits the space it was drawn for.
Aurora Murillo
Project Director
Aurora holds a B.S. in Architecture and has over twelve years in architecture, interior and furniture design, and project management. She leads projects through from drawing to installation — the detail, the coordination and the follow-through that decide whether a cellar arrives as it was drawn.
