Wine Cellar Design

Every cellar starts as a drawing. We measure the space, work through your collection and how you want to use the room, then come back with a design proposal covering racking, doors, lighting and climate control — so the layout is settled and approved before a single component is cut.

Design for the space you actually have

A cellar under a staircase, a glass-walled room off a dining area and a full basement are three different engineering problems. We design to the space rather than fitting a catalogue into it, which is why capacities run from 200 bottles to well past 5,000.

Climate planned with the room, not after it

In South Florida the cooling system decides whether a cellar works. Insulation, vapour barrier, glazing and equipment are specified together during design, targeting a stable 55°F and around 70% humidity for long-term storage.

Materials chosen for the look you want

Modern rooms use acrylic, glass and lacquered steel in light finishes with floating-bottle racking. Transitional rooms balance wood and metal for something warmer. Both are drawn, costed and approved before fabrication begins.

“Dragon Cellars exceeded every expectation I had—and that's saying a lot because I had a very specific vision for my dream wine cellar. From start to finish, their team demonstrated an incredible level of craftsmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail.

They created a modern, contemporary, truly world-class cellar that is not only stunning visually but also highly efficient and thoughtfully designed. Every element feels intentional, from the layout to the materials to the climate control—it's clear they take both aesthetics and performance seriously.

What impressed me most was how closely they listened and translated my ideas into something even better than I imagined. The result is a space that feels custom, elevated, and perfectly tailored to my collection and style.

If you're looking for a builder who can deliver a high-end, beautifully executed wine cellar without cutting corners, Dragon Cellars is the real deal. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.”

Common questions

Do I get to see the design before you build it?
Yes. Every project includes a drawn design proposal showing the layout, racking, lighting, doors and finishes, and nothing is fabricated until you approve it. We do not produce photorealistic 3D renders — the drawings are how the room gets agreed.
How long does the design stage take?
Most designs are ready for review within a few weeks of the initial consultation, depending on the complexity of the space and how quickly measurements and preferences are confirmed.
Can you work with my architect or interior designer?
Regularly. A significant share of our projects are collaborations with architects and designers already working on the property.
